Valkyrie Support Services are seeking a highly motivated Tutor with a strong background working in Manufacturing and Health & Safety to join our growing team. We are looking for a Tutor who specialises in Health and Safety but there is also potential to deliver training across a range of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programmes.
Valkyrie Support Services specialise in Engineering and Manufacturing, Health and Safety and Business, and are part of the High Ridge Training Group. High Ridge Training Group consists of specialist training providers who combine and share best best practice, management and administrative/operational resources, to deliver high quality training in Apprenticeships across a range of sectors.
Job Description
Responsible for delivering creative and inspiring remote and onsite lessons to learners. You will deliver high quality training sessions and consistently assess achievement of knowledge, skills and behaviours ensuring readiness for end point assessment.
Experience and qualifications in teaching and training are desirable but not essential, as long as there is a willingness to work towards mandatory qualifications.
This is a remote working role, however you may be required to travel, mainly throughout the Midlands, on a flexible basis. Most work takes place during normal office hours, but some flexibility is necessary to cater for Apprentices who may work across different shift patterns.
Main Duties
Teaching Health, Safety and Environment workshops at Level 3
Teaching Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programmes up to level 4
Provide 1-2-1 and group remote learning support, and motivate learners in their studies
Conduct formal reviews with learner, employer and mentor every 12 weeks or as required
Manage caseload to ensure learners complete in a timely manner
Contribute to the enrolment process, conducting initial assessments, identifying additional support requirements and deliver information, advice and guidance (IAG) to ensure programme suitability
Plan and produce schemes of work and lesson plans (showing methods of delivery)
Prepare and use suitable teaching and learning materials which take into account differentiation and individual learning styles
Use a range of appropriate delivery methodologies
Maintain accurate records as required for examinations, assessments and report on learner progress
Maintain weekly caseload reports and provide progress updates to learners, employers and management on a regular basis and on request
Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to ensure knowledge and skills meet industry standards
Follow all agreed Quality Assurance Systems and Risk Management systems and comply with all policies and procedures e.g. Safeguarding and Prevent, Health & Safety, Equality and Diversity and Equal Opportunities and ensure that these policies are followed
Undertake appropriate staff development activities that support personal development, ensuring your own teaching practice conforms with standards
To undertake any other duties as requested at any time
Be prepared to work outside standard office hours, only if needed to facilitate learners experience and shift patterns
Attend regular teaching and learning meetings
Follow company policy and procedures at all times
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Essential:
Minimum of 3 years work based Health and Safety Experience
Recognised Health and safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH)
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Flexible, adaptable and enthusiastic
Desirable:
Recognised assessing qualifications ie. A1, CAVA or equivalent (or working towards)
Relevant teaching qualification ie. Level 3 Award in Education and Teaching (Formally PTLLS) or above/equivalent
Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment, Processes and Practice
Minimum GCSE Grade C, or equivalent, qualifications in English and Mathematics
Minimum of 3 years work based Lean Manufacturing experience
Experience of delivering apprenticeships to groups/individuals
Experience of providing remote support to learners using a range of delivery methods, including the use of technology e.g. Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Experience of embedding Maths and English up to Level 2 (Functional Skills)

Valkyrie Training Services are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Trainer to deliver Procurement and Supply Apprenticeship Standards on a full time, permanent or freelance basis. Part time, increasing to full time can also be considered.
As a Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting learners through their Apprenticeship and End Point Assessment. With a background in Procurement and Supply you will draw upon your own knowledge and experience to guide learners and develop their Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours, while ensuring a safe, stimulating and supportive environment.
